This reflection follows a communication by Professor Roger Koudé at the international symposium held at the French National Assembly on the theme: “Dialogue between enemies: Needs and obstacles to the resolution of armed conflicts in the world” (Paris, May 25 & 26, 2021).

While there is no doubt that the factors explaining the recurrent political instability in Africa are numerous, the issue of governance is undoubtedly one of the determining elements for understanding the recurring crises in this part of the world.
