The 5th Congress of UNESCO Chairs in the Russian Federation was held on 20 May 2025. The congress was held at the G.V. Plekhanov National Economic University in Moscow. Representatives of about 60 Chairs took part in the meeting, which takes place every four years.

Representatives from about 20 UNESCO Chairs gave brief talks dedicated to the current challenges and opportunities in their work, including IDIU Network member Mr. D. Spivak, representing the UNESCO Chair on Comparative Studies of Spiritual Traditions, their Specific Cultures, and Interreligious Dialogue.

The Congress ended with the election of members of the Coordination Committee of UNESCO Chairs in Russia for the next 4-year term. Mr. D. Spivak was elected to serve as a permanent member of the Coordination Committee.

In addition, a new version of the Charter of the Committee was discussed and approved.
