The UNESCO Chair “Memory, Cultures and Interculturality” of the Catholic University of Lyon (France) and the Catholic University of West Africa-University Unit in Conakry (Guinea), are hosting an International Colloquium on the theme of « La gouvernance de la diversité culturelle : enjeux et défis. » (The governance of cultural diversity: issues and challenges).
The Colloquium will be held on 13-15 November 2025 in Conakry, Guinea.
The Call for Papers is open until 31 August 2025 and presentations can be delivered in French or English and in person or online.
Contributors are asked to submit proposal(s) under one of the following sub-themes:
1. Constitutional guarantees of cultural diversity
2. Cultural diversity and fundamental human rights
3. Cultural diversity in the African system of human rights protection and the rights of peoples
4. The governance of cultural diversity and political issues
5. Cultural diversity, social inclusion, and sustainable development
6. Cultural diversity, religious freedoms, and the issue of human rights
7. Cultural diversity, community conflicts, and endogenous conflict management mechanisms
8. The challenges of governing cultural diversity: can a system be modelled?
