The UNITWIN Network extends a warm welcome to Professor John Chi-kin LEE, who replaces Professor Bob Adamson as UNESCO Chair in Regional Education Development and Lifelong Learning

 Professor Adamson recently retired from his role as Chair – We take this opportunity to acknowledge Professor Adamson’s achievements and contributions to the UNITWIN Network and wish him much success in the next phase of his professional career.

Professor Lee, JP, brings extensive experience to the role of UNESCO Chair: Professor Lee is Vice President (Academic) and Chair Professor of Curriculum and Instruction and joined The Education University of Hong Kong in 2010. He is Director of the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education, Co-Director (Research) of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching and Co-Director of the Centre for Education in Environmental Sustainability (CEES). He was Dean of Education and Professor of Department of Curriculum and Instruction at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Professor Lee has served as the Editor-in-Chief of Cogent Education, Regional Editor (Asia-Pacific) of Educational Research and Evaluation and Executive Editor of Teachers and Teaching as well as editorial board members or advisory editor of numerous local, regional and international journals. He is also a prolific writer who has edited and written more than 25 books, and published over 100 journal articles and book chapters. Professor Lee served as the Team Leader of a World Bank consultancy project on teacher education and has also held many visiting/guest/adjunct professorships at universities overseas and in Mainland China. He is the Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor conferred by the Ministry of Education, the People’s Republic of China.
