We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming online UNESCO Chairs Seminar on “Using Modern Geospatial Technologies in UNESCO Designated Sites for Sustainable Futures”.

The Seminar will explore practical applications of geospatial technologies, share case studies, and promote collaboration among participants. By exchanging experiences, the Seminar aims to support more inclusive, informed, and resilient approaches to sustainable development in UNESCO designated sites and beyond. Please find attached the concept notes in English, French and Spanish.
In line with the theme, we introduce the UNESCO Sites Navigator, the dedicated Geographic Information System (GIS) for UNESCO’s key designated sites around the globe – World Heritage, Biosphere Reserves, Global Geoparks. It was officially launched on 9 July 2025, during the World Heritage Committee session.
