The Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair for Dialogue at Kufa University, Dr. Hassan Nadhem participated in the first Dialogue of the new joint project: a US-Europe-Iraq Track II Dialogue held in Berlin, Germany on 2-4, March 2020.
This project is organized by the Atlantic Council – Iraq Initiative and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. It aims at enhancing US-Europe-Iraqi cooperation and to inject fresh and practical policy ideas into the conversation at a critical moment when there is a chance for meaningful change in Iraq and when regional security challenges are on the rise. The Dialogue brought together a select, senior-level group of US, European, and Iraqi former and future policymakers into a semi-annual, highly structured dialogue on a wide range of economic, political and security issues facing Iraq. The project will include other dialogue meetings to be held in Iraq and the United States. The second Dialogue will be held in Baghdad, Iraq in October 2020. Future meetings in 2021 and 2022 will likely alternate between Iraq and locations in the United States and Europe.
